Boxing & MMA Weekend Wrap Up

- On Friday Night Fights highly touted prospect Darley Perez looked very average at best against Baha Mamadjonov, who filled in on a weeks notice after Michael Katsidis pulled out of the fight late last Monday. Early in the fight Perez was stunned by the offense of Mamadjonov making one think that Katsidis would of probably had his way with him. Perez pulled off a sleepy split decision 96-93, 95-94 Perez and one scoring it 95-94 Mamadjonov in the end neither truly won the fight.
-If Sergio Mora wanted to get back to network TV and avoid being outcasted to Telefutra he was mistaken. Mora fought Brian Vera on Saturday in a rematch of a Friday Night Fights match in which Vera upset Mora who then blamed going to the strip club the night before the fight as his reason for losing. Since beating Vernon Forrest in July 2008 Sergio Mora is now 1-2-1 in his last four fights with his only win being over a shot Calvin Green and having the worst fight of 2010 with Shane Mosley. Brian Vera applied pressure and beat Sergio Mora easily, now the story is this the end of the road for Sergio Mora.
Upcoming Fights
